France’s Macron Talks With British Prime Minister Before Visiting Russia-Ukraine


French President Emmanuel Macron had a phone call with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on the 5th local time to discuss the situation in Ukraine.

Reuters and AFP reported that Macron had a phone call with Prime Minister Johnson and discussed ways to ease tensions before visiting Moscow, Russia and Kiev, Ukraine next week.

France’s Elysee Palace said that “President Macron has stressed to Prime Minister Johnson the need to maintain dialogue to ameliorate the situation.”

Macron also spoke to NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg on the phone and delivered the same message, the Elysee Palace said.

Macron will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on the 7th and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky on the 8th.
