People’s Power Presidential Candidate Yoon Seok-yeol said, “If we start Gadeokdo’s new airport soon, we will exempt the preliminary feasibility study (yetta).”
Candidate Yoon held a contest for the final victory of the regional election committee at the auditorium of Busan City Hall in Suyeong-gu, Busan on the morning of the 15th, and said, “I will transform Busan into the world’s best maritime city and the world’s best high-tech city.”
Candidate Yoon praised Busan, saying, “Busan is the pride of the Republic of Korea.”
Then, enumerating the current situation of the Moon Jae-in government, he criticized “the wrong direction and policy results of this administration are putting a burden on the people and driving them into suffering.”
Candidate Yoon appealed for support, saying, “If you do not stop injustice, the consequences are harsh, and silence about injustice is worse than injustice.”
At the same time, Candidate Yoon also presented 12 Busan regional promises.
The pledges included support for the ‘2030 World Expo’ attraction, completion of the Busan North Port redevelopment project, underground Gyeongbu Line railway, construction of the Bu·Ul·Gyeong-gyeong inter-regional express railway (GTX), and the promotion of relocation of 55 distribution windows and 8 piers in downtown Busan.
After that, Candidate Yoon moved to Ulsan by taking the wide-area train that connects Busan and Ulsan.
At the inauguration ceremony of the election committee held in Ulsan, Candidate Yoon said, “Ulsan is a symbol of advanced Korea that has achieved an economic miracle.
He also emphasized that “Ulsan will prepare a future growth engine and be reborn as a young city where people want to live.”
Candidate Yoon presented five promises for the development of the Ulsan region.
First, by designating a ‘Haneul Automobile (Drone) Special Zone’, Ulsan promised to develop Ulsan into a global leading city in the future automobile industry, and to support the shipbuilding industry in overcoming the downturn by nurturing the shipbuilding and offshore plant industry.
In particular, he announced that he would establish a National Museum of Industrial Technology in Ulsan.
He also promised to upgrade Ulsan Airport and build a metropolitan railroad and urban railroad in the Ulsan area to have a transportation network that matches the status of a metropolitan city.
He also said that he plans to relax the standards in order to raise the green belt release rate of Ulsan, the lowest among the seven metropolitan cities, to the national average level.
Candidate Yoon’s visit to PK for 1 night and 2 days is his first visit to the region after the party’s recent redemption in the party, and it is interpreted as a strategy to speed up the recent favorable approval rating by making up for the relatively weak regional support compared to the TK region.
