U.S. coronavirus infection rises… More than 200,000 daily confirmed cases in about a year

As the omicron mutation rapidly spreads in the United States, the average daily number of new confirmed cases of COVID-19 surpassed 200,000 again in almost a year.

The New York Times reported that the average daily number of new COVID-19 cases in the United States for the past seven days as of Christmas was 201,330, an increase of 69% from two weeks ago.

According to this tally, it is the first time in 11 months since January 19 of this year that the average daily number of new infections in the United States has exceeded 200,000.

In the cold winter, when respiratory viruses are easy to spread, the number of corona19 confirmed in the United States is rising vertically as the more contagious omicron mutation is added to the delta mutation.

On the 14th of this month alone, the average daily number of confirmed cases was about 118,000, which almost doubled in just 10 days.
