Han Na-rae and Choi Ji-hee win the Korean Open tennis doubles


In the Women’s Professional Tennis (WTA) 125K Series Hana Bank Korea Open, Han Na-rae and Choi Ji-hee won the doubles championship.

Han Na-rae and Choi Ji-hee defeated Valentini Grammatikopolu (Greece)-Reka Luka Yani (Hungary) 2-0 (6-4 6-4) in the doubles final on the last day of the competition at the Olympic Park indoor court in Seoul. .

Han Na-rae and Choi Ji-hee, who returned to the top of the Korea Open doubles for the first time in three years since 2018, received a prize money of 6,000 dollars and about 7 million won in Korean money.

Founded in 2004, the Korean players have won the tournament three times: Yun-jeong Jo and Mi-ra Jeon in 2004, and Na-rae Han and Ji-hee Choi this year in 2018 and this year.

No Korean player has ever won a singles title.

The Korea Open was held as a WTA Tour event from 2004 to 2019, and was not held last year due to COVID-19.

This year, the 125K series, which is one level lower than the tour, will be held, and next year, it will be held again as a tour competition in September.

In the singles final held earlier, the 2nd seed, Zhulin of China (142nd), defeated the top seed, Cristina Mladenovic (98th) of France, 2-0 (6-0 6-4).
