Shim Sang-jung “Don’t use the word “national unity” recklessly… I don’t ask for the people’s consent.”
Justice Party presidential candidate Shim Sang-jung expressed his deep regret over the special amnesty of former President Park Geun-hye, and criticized it, saying, “I hope you do not use the word “national unity” recklessly.
Candidate Sang-Jeong Shim said in a written position today (24th), “The history of the president cannot be twisted with the sympathy of the individual president. At least, it is a matter that should never be exercised by the president-elected by candlelight.”
Candidate Shim pointed out, “More than anything else, President Moon Jae-in has repeatedly stated that ‘minimize the right to amnesty’ is the principle. Limiting the right to amnesty for the five major corruption crimes was also the president’s promise.”
He continued, “We did not even seek the minimum public consent for a critical amnesty that could change the course of history. Please do not use the word national unity recklessly.”
He continued, “The amnesty of Chun Doo-hwan and Roh Tae-woo never led to national unity, but rather distorted the modern history of the Republic of Korea.”
Also, he said, “The timing is also a big problem,” he said. “In the current presidential election phase, both candidates are on the judiciary. do,” he strongly criticized.
