Putin: ‘We must guarantee security to Russia’

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on the 23rd that “the West should not demand that Russia guarantee its own security, but should immediately guarantee it to Russia.”

According to Reuters, Putin made the remarks at the annual press conference held in Moscow on the same day.

Putin, who recently proposed Russia’s security guarantee measures to the West, including the United States, said, “The ball has passed to the West.”

Putin also said that “Russia does not threaten anyone” regarding the possibility of an attack by Ukraine.

He did, however, mention that Ukraine appears to be preparing for a military operation.

At the same time, Putin proposed a way to cooperate with China.

“Russia and China develop high-tech weapons together,” he said, adding that “Russia has mutual trust with China and contributes to world stability together.”
