Prince Albert confirms: Princess Charlène will not return to Monaco for Christmas

Prince Albert gave an update on the state of health of his wife Princess Charlène in an official message. It also describes the Royal’s planning for the holidays.

Princess Charlène of Monaco, 43, will not be returning to Monaco for Christmas. Prince Albert, 63, announced this in an official statement about the palace.

Prince Albert and the twins will visit Princess Charlène

“Her Highness Princess Charlène is recovering in a satisfactory and reassuring way, even if it may take a few more months before her health is fully restored,” said the palace’s announcement. This makes it clear that Charlène will not only miss Christmas, but most likely also her 44th birthday, which the former swimmer will celebrate in January.

Despite Charlène’s hospital stay, the family will be able to be together. “HSH Princess Charlene will be visited by HSH Prince Albert II and her children during the Christmas holidays,” it continues. In conclusion, the prince and his family ask that privacy be respected.

Princess Charlène has been in treatment for several weeks

The health update comes just two days after the Monaco royals released their official Christmas card. Instead of a photo, Albert and Charlène chose a drawing. However, this caused a lot of speculation, which has now come true: The 43-year-old is not in the circle of her family.
