Seongnam Mayor Eun Soo-mi is expected to appear in court again on charges of bribery and employee abuse.

The Suwon District Court decided to hold the first trial of Mayor Eun Su-mi, who was handed over to trial on charges of bribery and abuse of power, at 10 am on the 19th of next month.

Mayor Eun is accused of acquiring investigation secrets after conspiring with a former policy aide who is classified as a close aide to facilitate the police investigation into alleged violations of the Political Fund Act.

Police officer A in charge of the investigation requested the mayor of Eun to win a supply contract with a specific company along with a request for personnel from Seongnam City.

It was confirmed that Mr. A’s request was actually accepted and reflected by the silver market.

When Mayor Eun was indicted on such charges on the 30th of last month, he said that the prosecution’s charges were not true at all and that he would reveal his innocence through a trial.

The case of violating the Political Fund Act began to draw attention in January when Lee, a former secretary of Mayor Eun, exposed the leak of investigation secrets by the police in charge of the investigation.
