Negotiations for a free agent (FA) between the KIA Tigers and Yang Hyun-jong have been postponed again.

The KIA club announced today (22nd), “We met and exchanged opinions with Yang Hyun-jong at the Gwangju Stadium to form a consensus, but we could not reach an agreement.”

At 11 am that day, KIA Director Jang Jeong-seok and Yang Hyun-jong met in person to discuss.

Although the KIA presented the final proposal, it was confirmed that the negotiations were concluded on the same day as Yang Hyun-jong’s side demanded, “Give me time to think a little more.”

After the end of this season, Yang Hyun-jong, who obtained free agency status after his contract with the Texas Rangers ended, returned to Korea on October 5 and promoted negotiations with his original team, KIA.

The negotiations between Yang Hyeon-jong and KIA, which were expected to proceed smoothly, agreed on the total amount, but were prolonged by disagreeing over the amount of guarantee.

In consideration of the age and physical condition of Hyun-jong Yang, who is in his mid-30s, KIA tried to reduce the amount of insurance and increase the option to pay an annual salary according to performance.

On the other hand, Yang Hyun-jong demanded that the proportion of the insurance amount be increased, and it is known that he could not find a point of contact.
