Prime Minister Kim “With 25,000 beds for those with moderate to severe disease…without disruption to medical personnel”
The government decided to increase the number of beds with moderate to severe symptoms to 25,000 by January next year, while the shortage of beds is being pointed out, such as the utilization rate of beds with severe COVID-19 reaching 80% every day.
Prime Minister Kim Bu-gyeom announced today (22nd) a plan to expand Corona 19 beds at the Corona 19 Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters meeting presided at the government complex in Seoul.
Prime Minister Kim said, “Even if there are 10,000 new cases of coronavirus a day, the number of beds will be expanded to a level that can be treated.” said.
Prime Minister Kim said, “To this end, some public hospitals, such as the National Medical Center, Seoul Medical Center, and Veterans’ Hospital, will be vacated and converted into hospitals exclusively for Corona.”
He added, “In order to strengthen the treatment capacity of critically ill patients, we will additionally expand more than 300 beds for severe cases at national university hospitals such as Seoul National University Hospital.
Prime Minister Kim said, “We will provide necessary health and medical personnel in the field without any setbacks.
