The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that no Korean casualties have been reported as of the afternoon of today (20th) due to the super-class typhoon Lai that swept the Philippines.
An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “The Philippine branch of Cebu will continue to check whether there is any casualty or property damage related to the typhoon and closely monitor the trend.”
In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added, “The state branch operated its own situation team in preparation for ‘Rai’ and frequently spread the typhoon situation through the local Korean community and consular partners,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added.
The Philippine National Police Agency said typhoon Lai has caused 208 deaths so far, with at least 239 injured and 52 missing.
