The UK, which has been hit directly by Omicron, has surpassed 90,000 new infections a day, setting new highs every day.
Although efforts are being made to expand vaccination, the number of critically ill patients, led by non-vaccinated people, has increased and the beds have become saturated, and there is a serious shortage of medical staff.
The City of London has declared the spread of Omicron as a major event and has taken an all-out response.

The Netherlands went into full lockdown until the 14th of next month.
All non-essential stores such as bars, restaurants and movie theaters were closed, except for essential stores such as supermarkets and pharmacies.
Gatherings are limited to 2 people, and schools will be closed until the 9th of the following month.

Paris, France, has canceled New Year’s fireworks, and Denmark and Ireland are extending lockdowns.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Omicron mutations have been reported in 89 countries and are spreading rapidly in countries where immunity has been boosted by vaccination.
