The number of new COVID-19 cases in the United States has surpassed 100,000 on average for the first time in two months.
The average daily number of new COVID-19 cases in the United States over the past seven days has reached 121,437.
It is the first time since early October that the average daily number of new infections exceeded 100,000.
The number of deaths, which had been declining for a while, has also returned to an increasing trend.
Meanwhile, in the United States, until the 4th local time, 16 states in all had Omicron infections.
Three days after the first case was reported in California on the 1st, 15 additional cases were confirmed in 15 states.
However, since the omicron mutation has just landed, it is presumed that the delta mutation is still driving the infection in the United States.
