Professional baseball KIA has appointed head coach Kim Jong-guk, who has only worn Tigers uniforms for 25 years, as the new manager.

After sacking Williams, the KIA club appointed head coach Kim Jong-guk to the managerial position, which had been vacant for over a month.

Born in Gwangju, he joined the KIA in 1996 and worked as a key infielder for 14 years. After retiring in 2010, coach Kim Jong-guk, who had only coached at KIA, announced his ambition to rebuild a famous family by building a solid defense.
