Jeonbuk, K-League ‘first’ 5 consecutive … ‘Most’ wins 9 times

Jeonbuk, a professional soccer team, achieved the first five consecutive K-League championships and their ninth championship, the most in history. Kyo-Won Han and Min-Kyu Song’s consecutive goals made him the champion in the final match of the league for three years in a row.

Jeonbuk continued to beat Jeju in a situation where the championship was confirmed just by a draw, and Gyowon Han took the lead in the 9th minute of the second half.

When the Jeju goalie missed Choi Cheol-soon’s header during a corner kick, Gyo-won Han rushed in and scored the winning goal with his right foot.

Jeonbuk legend Lee Dong-guk, who retired last year, did not spare applause from the audience for this valuable goal.

Jeonbuk scored an additional goal in the 28th minute from transfer student Song Min-gyu.

It was a wonderful collaboration between Kunimoto’s ruler-shaped pass and Song Min-gyu’s quick space penetration.

Jeonbuk, which defeated Jeju 2-0 with consecutive goals from Gyo-won Han and Min-gyu Song, became the champion, beating 2nd place Ulsan by two points.

Jeonbuk players, who achieved their ninth championship for the first time in the K-League for five consecutive years and the most in history, enjoyed a lively dance party in front of 14,000 home fans.

Coach Kim Sang-sik stood at the top of the K-League as a manager as well as a player and coach, standing at the center of the Jeonbuk Dynasty.

Ulsan, who was aiming for a miraculous comeback victory, bowed its head again.

Even after defeating Daegu 2-0, they were pushed to Jeonbuk to finish runners-up for the third year in a row.
