German opinion poll shows 63% support for compulsory vaccination against coronavirus


As the quarantine reins have been strengthened due to the re-spread of COVID-19 in Germany, a survey result showed that two out of three people were in favor of mandatory corona vaccination.

According to dpa news in Germany on the 5th (local time), 63% of people in the poll conducted by YouGov, a public opinion polling company, on the 1st to 3rd, 2,67 people on the 1st to 3rd, expressed their intention in favor of mandatory vaccination.

On the other hand, 30% objected and 7% did not respond.

In a public opinion poll at the end of December last year, when the first COVID-19 vaccine was administered in Germany, 56% and 33% were in favor and against the compulsory vaccination, respectively.

There are voices in Germany that people should refrain from visiting relatives before Christmas, and the next German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, has announced that he will submit a bill for mandatory vaccination to the parliament around February or March next year.
