Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung visited Yanglim Church in Gwangju.
It is a place that helped and hid the participants of the May 18 Democratization Movement in 1980.
Candidate Lee strongly criticized Chun Doo-hwan’s wife, Lee Soon-ja, for the apology on behalf of the deceased Jeon.

Candidate Lee also pledged to establish the grand principle of eliminating the statute of limitations for violent crimes committed by the state power and forever finding out the truth and holding them accountable.
At the inauguration ceremony of the Gwangju election committee, which was held for the first time among the regional election committees, he said, “I did not live up to the expectations of Honam,” and said, “I will perfect the spirit of Honam.”
It is interpreted that he lowered his stance and appealed for support in that he did not win first place only in Gwangju and Jeollanam-do at the time of the presidential election in September.
[이재명/민주당 대선 후보 : 우리 호남은 민주당의 ‘텃밭’이 아니라 민주당의 ‘죽비’이고 ‘회초리’입니다. 호남의 마음을 다시 얻겠습니다.]
Candidate Lee is scheduled to hold an inauguration ceremony in Gwangju on the 29th of the so-called ‘People’s Election Commission’ with about 200 people participating both online and offline.
The People’s Power and Justice Party criticized the media report that Lee was defending another murder case of a woman in addition to the murder of his nephew’s mother and daughter, and insisted on commutation of the suspect’s mental and physical weakness.
Candidate Lee countered that the case was taken over by another lawyer in the same attorney’s office and that the candidate did not defend himself.
