Son Hye-won, sentenced to 2nd trial with fine Anti-corruption law ‘not guilty’


Former lawmaker Sohn Hye-won, who was sentenced to prison in the first trial on charges of purchasing real estate under a borrowed name by grasping Mokpo City’s urban regeneration project plan in advance, was commuted to a fine in the appeals court. The charge of violating the Anti-Corruption Act, which was found guilty at the first trial, was overturned to acquittal. On the 25th, the Seoul Southern District Court’s Criminal Procedure Division 1 (Presiding Judge Seong-hwan Byun) sentenced former lawmaker Sohn to 1 year and 6 months in prison for violating the Anti-Corruption Act and Real Name Real Estate Act.
