The prosecution today (26th) summoned and investigated the former special prosecutor Park Young-soo and the head of the media company, who were suspected of being promised 5 billion won from Hwacheon Daewoo.
The Seoul Central Prosecutor’s Office’s investigation team in charge of the Daejang-dong development allegation is investigating former Special Prosecutor Park Young-soo this afternoon.
Former special prosecutor Park, who served as an advisor to Hwacheon Daeyu, a development company in Daejang-dong, is suspected of having received preferential sale of an apartment in Daejang-dong while her daughter also worked at Hwacheon Daeyu.
It is also known that former special prosecutor Park appears as one of the members of the so-called ‘5 billion promise club’, which was promised 5 billion won in profits from Hwacheon Daewoo in the transcript of accountant Jeong Young-hak, who first exposed the suspicion of large intestine.
Prosecutors also called and investigated Mr. A, the chairman of the media company, also referred to as the ‘5 billion promise club’.
It seems that the prosecution, who indicted former general manager Yoo Dong-gyu, Kim Man-bae, and lawyer Nam Wook, on charges of breach of trust and bribery, has begun an investigation into the remaining lobbying allegations.
Former Special Prosecutor Park and the media president Mr. A are all vehemently denying the allegation that they have never been promised 5 billion won in profits from Hwacheon Daewoo.
