The Gwangsan Pneumoconiosis Solidarity Group held a press conference in front of the Gangwon Provincial Office today (25th) and demanded countermeasures, saying that 71 ex-miners suffering from pneumoconiosis were excluded from free treatment and pneumoconiosis basic pension after being certified by the Korea Workers’ Compensation and Welfare Service for pneumoconiosis. If the political circles do not solve the problem, the coalition against the mines is planning to wage a hunger strike in front of the provincial government from the 14th of next month.
