Ministry of Unification, North Korea’s foreign media criticize the president’s authority, “It does not help the development of inter-Korean relations”

Regarding North Korea’s recent mockery or criticism of the ruling and opposition presidential candidates through propaganda media, the Ministry of Unification said, “Speech and conduct that deviate from the purpose of mutual respect between the two Koreas and non-interference in internal affairs does not help the development of inter-Korean relations.”

An official from the Ministry of Unification said, “It is the government’s basic perception of this issue rather than a position on specific North Korean media reports.”

The Ministry of Unification has not responded to criticisms of South Korea through external propaganda media other than North Korea’s official media, such as the Rodong Sinmun and the Korean Central News Agency.

Yesterday (22nd), North Korean propaganda media ‘Echo’ posted an article mocking Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung, People’s Power candidate Yoon Seok-yeol, and People’s Party candidate Ahn Cheol-soo by comparing them to ‘alcohol’.
