A bear that escaped from Yongin was killed… “Looking for one remaining”

Yesterday (22nd), one of two half-breasted bears that escaped from a bear farm in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, was killed today.

At about 1:20 pm, about 5 hours after they resumed their search today, the bear capture team found and killed a bear that had escaped from a mountain in Hodong, about 600 meters away from the farm where it had escaped.

It is said that the bear was surprised by the barking sound of the search dog and suddenly jumped out and felt threatened.

The Hwan River Basin Environment Agency continues to search for one that has not yet been found.

From the bear breeding farm where the escape occurred, twelve animals have escaped six times, starting in 2006 and until yesterday.

The farm owner was arrested last month after falsely reporting that two of the bears escaped to hide their illegal slaughter when one of the bears escaped in July.

After the farmer was arrested, the Environment Agency has entrusted the management of the farm to the Wildlife Management Association.
