Prosecutors launched a search and seizure of the Democratic Party’s policy lab in connection with the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family’s alleged development of the Democratic Party’s presidential campaign promises. The 2nd Public Investigation Division of the Seoul Central Prosecutors’ Office (Chief Kyung-geun Kim) has been raiding and searching the Democratic Party Policy Lab at the National Assembly Hall in Yeouido, Seoul since 9:50 a.m. on the 19th. Prosecutors are said to have secured the work data of an expert member of the Democratic Party’s leisure department. Earlier, on the 12th, the National Election Commission filed a complaint with the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act. They are suspected of having exercised undue influence by participating in election campaign planning, such as preparing and providing materials to be used to develop the Democratic Party’s promises ahead of next year’s presidential election.
