‘Youth, region, climate’ combined crisis… “We need to expand the role of government.”

You have listened to the main announcements of the presidential candidates, and this time, let’s take a look at the most pressing tasks and solutions analyzed by the SDF research team. The research team diagnosed that youth anxiety, climate crisis, and inequality are closely intertwined.

Reporter Ki-tae Kim summarizes the details.

The young people in Korea analyzed by the SDF research team were young people without a future.

The reason is that the polarization of adolescence continues even after middle age, and the possibility of dreaming of a better future is decreasing.

In particular, the longer they live in a non-metropolitan area, the more likely they are to lead an unstable life, indicating that regional imbalances have an impact on the lives of young people.

According to the climate crisis, it was analyzed that young people in areas with a large number of carbon-emitting industries are experiencing a greater crisis.

At the same time, a change in the perception of the Korean people about the climate crisis was also noticeable, and the perception that climate change would directly harm me was the highest in the world.

The SDF research team emphasized that youth anxiety, regional imbalances, and climate crisis are complex crises that are closely intertwined and must be addressed from an integrated perspective.

Meanwhile, eight out of ten Koreans thought that it is the government’s responsibility to overcome this complex crisis, and therefore the government’s role should be expanded.
