Putin: Russia-China relations are at the highest level in history, a model for efficient international cooperation

Russian President Vladimir Putin has praised Russia-China relations as the highest level ever, but pointed out that relations with the West are not satisfactory.

“Currently, Russia-China relations are seen as a model for effective international cooperation in the 21st century, but some Western countries are trying to separate Russia and China,” Putin said at a meeting of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s staff.

“We will continue to respond by expanding cooperation with China in fields such as politics and economy,” Putin said, adding that “we will continue to coordinate our actions on the international stage.”

On the other hand, he said he was “dissatisfied” with the relationship with the United States, but left room for dialogue, saying, “I am open to contact, exchange of views and constructive dialogue with the United States.”

He criticized the EU, saying, “The possibility of cooperation has narrowed because it is pushing Russia away through sanctions.”

“Russia will respond appropriately to NATO’s military activities near its borders,” he said.

Regarding the recent refugee crisis at the Belarus-Poland border, he pointed out that Europe is using the refugee crisis as a new opportunity to put pressure on Belarus.
