On the 18th, prosecutors investigating suspicions of preferential treatment for Daejang-dong’s development summoned and investigated the former reporter Bae Ahmugae, the owner of the 7th Cheonhwa-dongin, an affiliate of Hwacheon Daeyu Asset Management (Hwacheon Daeyu). This is the first time that Bae has been investigated by the prosecution in connection with the allegation of Jangdong-dong. The Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office’s dedicated investigation team (team leader Kim Tae-hoon) called Bae as the accused in the afternoon of the afternoon regarding the suspicion of Daejang-dong and began an investigation. Bae, who is a junior in the press of Kim Man-bae, the major shareholder of Hwacheon Daeyu, is known as the person who introduced Kim to lawyer Nam Wook (Cheonhwa-dongin No. 4) and accountant Jeong Young-hak (Cheonhwa-dongin No. Bae, who owns Cheonhwa-dongin No. 7, is said to have received a dividend of 12.1 billion won by investing 10.46 million won in the Daejang-dong business. Bae has been involved in this project since 2009, the early stage of the Daejang-dong development project. Prosecutors seem to have investigated Bae’s role in the Daejang-dong development project and how he participated in the project. The prosecution continued the investigation by calling Kim Man-bae, lawyer Nam, and accountant Jeong again that afternoon. Mr. Jeong, a private entrepreneur who was involved in the early stages of the Wirye New Town project and the Daejang-dong project, was summoned as a reference for investigation. Jeong is known to have played a role in raising slush funds in the early days of the Daejang-dong project. Prosecutors are expected to conduct final investigations against them, including allegations of bribery lobbying handed over to them in the process of developing Daejang-dong. Prosecutors plan to hand over key figures related to the Dae Jang-dong suspicion to trial on charges of breach of trust, 22 days before the expiration of the arrest period for Kim and Nam.
