A phone call from the U.S. and Japan’s chief representative of North Korea’s nuclear weapons… Confirmation of Close Cooperation Policy between Korea, the U.S. and Japan

NHK reported that the U.S. and Japan’s chief representatives for North Korean nuclear weapons had a phone call today (18th) and discussed the situation in North Korea.

According to the report, the U.S. State Department’s special representative for North Korea, Sung Kim, and the Japanese Foreign Ministry’s Asian and Oceanian Director-General for Asia and Oceania, Takehiro Funakoshi, spoke on the phone for 30 minutes.

Representative Sung and Director Funakoshi discussed current issues such as the North Korean abduction issue and North Korea’s nuclear and missile issues along with the situation in North Korea.

NHK added that the two confirmed their policy of close cooperation between the United States and Japan and South Korea, the United States and Japan on North Korean issues in the future.
