“Vaccinate to work” Philippines forced to vaccinate workers at workplaces

The Philippine government has restricted the attendance of unvaccinated people to work to expand COVID-19 vaccination.

According to foreign media such as Reuters, Harry Roque, spokesman for the Philippine Presidential Palace, announced the quarantine guidelines.

Workers who live in areas with sufficient vaccine supplies but are not vaccinated will have to be screened for coronavirus frequently at their own expense, Roque added.

In addition, public transportation workplaces can only operate after all workers have been vaccinated.

In addition, public and private agencies may deny entry and provision of services to citizens who do not complete their vaccinations, except in emergency situations, he said.

The new guidelines will come into effect on the 1st of the following month.

In the Philippines, only about a quarter of the 110 million people in the Philippines have been vaccinated.

According to authorities, many people are known to be reluctant to get vaccinated.
