Park Min-ji, KLPGA prize money, multiple wins, 3 grand prizes confirmed

Park Min-ji, who won 6 victories on this year’s Korean women’s professional golf and KLPGA tours, has confirmed the grand prize following the prize money and multiple wins.

In the second round of the SK Shielders-SK Telecom Championship, the last tournament of the season held at Raviebel Country Club Old Course in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do, Min-ji Park hit a 1-over par 73 and was eliminated with a 3-over par in the midterm.

However, as Lim Hee-jung, who placed second in the grand prize points, was eliminated from the cut with a 4-over par, Park Min-ji confirmed the grand prize award.

Park Min-ji can’t add any more prize money, but he finished the season with three gold medals: the prize money king (1.515.74 million won), the multi-winner (6 wins), and the grand prize.

Park Min-ji became the first player on the KLPGA Tour to break the 1.5 billion won season prize money, and became the fourth player to win 6 or more wins on the KLPGA Tour after Shin Ji-ae, Park Sung-hyun, and Seo Hee-kyung.

Park Min-ji, who had already won 6 victories in the first half of the year alone, failed to add victories in the 14 tournaments she participated in, not achieving the goal of the most wins in the season (9 wins).

Park Min-ji said, “It’s a pity that I missed the cut in the last competition of the season, but even when I debuted, I thought that I could win once. I will try harder without losing my original intention.”

Lim Hee-jung won only one win this year, but as she finished at the top of each tournament, she placed second in the prize money ranking (98.769 million won) and second in the grand prize points.
