National Assembly approves motion to appoint Choi Jae-hae as Chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection… Jaehyung Choi resigned after 136 days
A motion to appoint Choi Jae-hae as the chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection was passed by the National Assembly.
The National Assembly held a plenary session today (11th), and out of 252 incumbents, 223 voted in favor, 23 against, and 6 abstentions to vote on the motion to appoint Choi.
It has been 136 days since former Auditor General Choi Jae-hyung resigned on June 28.
Candidate Choi graduated from the 28th Administrative Examination and is an audit expert who has served as the head of the Planning and Management Office, the 1st Deputy Secretary General, and the Audit Committee at the Board of Audit and Inspection.
This is the first time that an insider of the Board of Audit and Inspection has become the director since the Board of Audit and Inspection opened in 1963.
Previously, the members of the Special Personnel Hearing Committee stated in the Personnel Hearing Review Progress Report, “The candidate has worked for the Board of Audit and Inspection for 28 years since 1989 and is evaluated as having a wealth of experience and expertise in audit administration as an audit expert.”
