Namyang Dairy’s fine for ‘low-interest loan for obstetrics and gynecology’


Namyang Dairy was caught by the Fair Trade Commission after lent money to an obstetrics and gynecologist at a low interest to make them use their own formula.

The Fair Trade Commission imposed a fine of 144 million won on Namyang Dairy, which lent 14.36 billion won to 25 obstetrics and gynecology centers and postpartum care centers at an annual interest rate of 2.5 to 3 percent, lower than the average lending rate of banks for two years from 2016.

Maeil Holdings also imposed a fine of 10 million won on Maeil Holdings, which supplied about 160 million won worth of medical devices and other items to obstetricians and gynecologists for free.
