While Princess Charlène was stuck in South Africa for the past nine months, Princess Caroline of Hanover was there for Prince Albert. She accompanied her little brother to a number of appointments. Only when Charlene arrived in Monaco was Caroline missing.

She is known as the “princess of hearts”, and the people trust her: Princess Caroline of Hanover, 64, is very popular in Monaco. Despite the numerous strokes of fate that Caroline has already had to endure in her life, she takes her role seriously and does not even think about slowing it down. So it’s no wonder that her younger brother, Prince Albert, 63, has relied on her again and again in recent months when it comes to official appearances. After all, he could not take his wife, Princess Charlène, 43, with him, the former swimmer was stuck in South Africa because of a serious ear, nose and throat infection.

Prince Albert picked up Charlène with Stéphanie and the twins

All the more astonishing that Princess Caroline did not accompany her brother when his wife Charlène finally returned home on November 8, 2021 after nine painful months of separation. As the palace confirmed on its official Instagram account, Prince Albert picked up his wife with the twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella and his younger sister, Princess Stéphanie of Monaco, 56. It was “a reunion full of joy and emotions.”

Emotional reunion after a long separation

Princess Charlene traveled home from South Africa on Sunday evening, November 7th. Before boarding the private jet to Monaco, Charlène thanked South Africa and all the doctors for their help and support: “Of course it was a very challenging time. At the same time, it was wonderful to be back in South Africa. I would like to see the doctors in South Africa to say thank you for doing a great job with me. I am so happy to be able to come home to my children. Thank you very much, South Africa. Thank you everyone. And God save you. “

After a short stop in Nice, we went on to Monaco by helicopter. Here she was received by her loved ones. In family photos that were taken shortly after Charlène’s arrival at the palace, the 43-year-old can clearly see the joy and relief of finally being with her family again.
