Matt Damon and Robert Downey Jr. there
With Matt Damon and Robert Downey Jr. two other big stars will appear in Christopher Nolan’s new film.
Christopher Nolan (51) will probably get them all. The director of blockbusters like “Tenet”, “Dunkirk”, “Inception” and “The Dark Knight” will apparently shoot his new project with the two megastars Matt Damon (51) and Robert Downey Jr. (56). That reports among other things the industry magazine “The Hollywood Reporter”.
Damon and Downey Jr. will not play the main roles. In the biopic “Oppenheimer”, “Peaky Blinders” star Cillian Murphy (45) will portray the “father of the atomic bomb”. At his side is Emily Blunt (38) Katherine, the wife of J. Robert Oppenheimer. Damon is supposed to play Lieutenant General Leslie R. Groves and Downey Jr. Lewis Strauss.
“Oppenheimer” should appear in 2023
“Oppenheimer” is Nolan’s first collaboration with Universal Pictures. The film studio speaks of the fact that the film should be an “epic thriller”. In the meantime, there should be a certain familiarity on the set during the upcoming filming. Among other things, Murphy and Blunt have already made the horror film “A Quiet Place 2” together and the Irish actor has also appeared in several Nolan productions. Damon shot his science fiction film “Interstellar” with the director.
Christopher Nolan will not only direct the film, he will also write the script for “Oppenheimer”. The film is based on the biography “American Prometheus” and is expected to open in July 2023.
